Governed Intelligence

Most systems turn signals into alerts. ACE turns signals into governed proof — bounded projections, receipted decisions, and evidence that survives a board room, a legal review, or a regulator audit. Intelligence without authority is noise. ACE ensures every output is traceable to the context that produced it.

SIGNAL → RECEIPTEvery inbound signal produces a governed delta — what changed, where it came from, what authority it carries, what it is not allowed to become.

PROJECTION → BOUNDARYProjections are labelled with confidence class, source citations, and hard limits on what conclusions may be drawn.

Receipts and Proof — Not Logs

Logs tell you what happened. ACE receipts prove what was authorised, what was refused, and what boundary was preserved. Every material transition is spine-backed, every defect is first-class evidence, and every export is tamper-evident.

03 — Authority Model

Authority Separation

Sensitive is not authority-bearing. Possession is not custody. Custody is not examination. Examination is not meaning. Meaning is not projection. Projection is not action. Action is not settlement. ACE enforces these boundaries structurally — in code and schema, not in prose.

GOVERNORSole authority layer. Validates permissions, enforces spine contracts, approves or rejects candidate actions, blocks forbidden execution.

CORTEXDelta-native compute. Interprets streams, constructs execution context, generates candidate actions. Does not approve or execute.

DOMAIN LOCK9 canonical domains. Every crossing is receipted. Unknown flows are prohibited by default. No cross-domain authority inheritance.

04 — Infrastructure

Cutover-Ready Infrastructure

ACE can operate offline because it governs transitions — not network access. Local proof, external proof, and settlement proof remain permanently separated. The spine does not hold every rendered surface; it holds every authoritative transition.

05 — AI Control

Enterprise AI Control Layer

ACE governs what any AI output is allowed to become. No LLM projection executes outside Governor-approved scope. No virtual surface upgrades itself. No domain adapter inherits authority from another domain. ACE is not a wrapper around AI — it is the authority boundary AI must pass through.

LLM INFERREDClassified as a protected domain. LLM outputs cannot carry authority. Inference-to-authority escalation is a contracted invariant violation.

UNGOVERNED CANDIDATEPatterns crossing attention thresholds enter holding state. They may not drive projections, actions, or authority requests until governed significance is earned.

EXECUTION RUNTIMEUntrusted. May only execute Governor-approved actions. Must produce outputs, traces, and receipts — even for refusals.
